The BCWMC approved the project's 90% design plans at the BCWMC's November 2015 monthly meeting and approved the 50% design plans at its September 2015 monthly meeting. Construction of the pond is anticipated to occur in 2017.

The estimated cost of this project is $1,260,930 of which $810,930 will be funded by the BCWMC's 2015 ad valorem tax levy to be collected via Hennepin County in 2016 and $450,000 by the City of Golden Valley.

Project Description

The BCWMC, in cooperation with the City of Golden Valley, is constructing the Honeywell Pond Enhancement/Improvement Project to directly address the need to provide treatment of runoff in addition to the Best Management Practices (BMPS) that will be constructed for the Douglas Drive project scheduled for construction in Golden Valley in 2016. The Honeywell Pond Enhancement/Improvement Project will be able to expand and enhance the treatment of storm water flowing into and through the area from the upstream watershed prior to its discharge to Bassett Creek and will provide habitat enhancements.
