Project Number: ML-22
Stream evaluations and a complete feasibility study are underway in the fall 2022 and winter 2022/2023. Public input on the potential project will be gathered in the coming months. In spring 2023, the BCWMC is expected to review results of the feasibility study and consider options for project implementation.
This project will be primarily funded through taxes collected from all residents of the Bassett Creek Watershed area through the BCWMC Capital Improvement Program. Additional funds may be collected from partners, grants, or the city of Plymouth.
This proposed project would restore a small stream that is actively eroding near Medicine Lake and which drains directly into the West Medicine Lake Park Water Quality ponds. The project would stabilize streambanks to reduce erosion and associated pollutants including sediment and phosphorus along a 1,000-foot section of creek. Currently, the BCWMC is evaluating this area by surveying streambank conditions and identifying areas where banks need to be stabilized and where stream habitat can be improved. The BCWMC is working with the City of Plymouth to gather input from residents along the creek during the study. Watch the announcements section of this page for information on upcoming public input events.
