Project Description

The BCWMC is currently studying the feasibility of a proposed project to restore streambanks along Plymouth Creek from Dunkirk Lane to 38th Avenue North (behind the Plymouth Ice Center) in cooperation with the City of Plymouth. The study will inventory eroding areas and evaluate potential restoration needs and methods along this 7,000 foot section of the creek. Goals of a restoration project include stabilizing streambanks to reduce erosion, improve water quality, and improve in-stream and near stream habitats. A future project may also include removing accumulated sediment in some areas of the creek, reconnecting the floodplain with the creek, incorporating a meander into a once straightened part of the creek to better mimic natural stream morphology, and removing dead, dying, or invasive trees along the creek.

Project Announcements
