Construction Complete on Schaper Pond Diversion Project

Wed, Dec 30, 2015

The Schaper Pond Diversion Project construction was completed this month. The project included the installation of a baffle in the pond. The baffle, which will divert water flow through the pond in a manner to allow more particles to settle out before the water flows into Sweeney Lake, is completely installed and deployed. The BCWMC implemented this project to improve the effectiveness of Schaper Pond in order to improve the water quality of Sweeney Lake, particularly through phosphorous load reduction. Site restoration work at the construction area will occur in spring 2016. Read more about this project on the Schaper Pond Diversion Project page.
