The total cost of this project was $650,440.38. The City of Minnetonka will paid $270,440.38. The BCWMC will paid the remaining $380,000 from a tax levy on watershed residents.

Project Description

This project was constructed in conjunction with the reconstruction of Ridgedale Drive in the City of Minnetonka and treats runoff from 13.3 acres of developed land that previously flowed untreated into Crane Lake. The project removes an estimated 9 pounds of total phosphorus and 3,500 pounds of total suspended solids from the runoff each year.

The project includes construction of a 12,250 cubic-foot underground stormwater storage and pretreatment system, a wet well with a 30 gallon-per-minute (0.7 cubic-feet-per-second) pump, and a series of infiltration basins. A granular filter media and underdrains were installed as a backup system to allow for filtration. These components were constructed in a new park just east of Ridgedale Drive and will include educational signage about the treatment system and Crane Lake in the future.
